Dear Resident
You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Thursday 22nd January, this occurred between 2030hrs and 2035hrs and the method of attack was by snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry.
BETWEEN TIMES AND DATES STATED THE VICTIM HAS BEEN ASLEEP IN THEIR ADDRESS WHEN UNKNOWN SUSPECT HAS FORCED ENTRY TO THE REAR UPVC DOOR OF THE ADDRESS WHICH ENTERS INTO THE KITCHEN. THE SUSPECT HAS THEN GONE UPSTAIRS AND ENTERED THE FIRST BEDROOM ON THE LANDING AND PERFORMED AN UNTIDY SEARCH OF THE ROOM AND DRAWERS, BEFORE GOING INTO THE VICTIMS BEDROOM, WAKING THEM UP. THE VICTIM HAS BEEN CONFUSED AND CALLED OUT FOR HER SON, AS SHE BELIEVED THAT THE SUSPECT WAS HER SON. THE VICTIM HAS SEEN THE SUSPECT WHO WAS WEARING A BALACLAVA AND THE SUSPECT HAS FLED THE ADDRESS AND MADE OFF UNSEEN IN UNKNOWN DIRECTION.
Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between Thursday 22nd January 215hrs and 2050hrs to check if you had any activations.
Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock.
Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police. Should you have any information about either burglary please contact us on 101. Thanks
